About Keyword Density

Keyword density is the share of your text that a given word (or phrase) represents. It is often expressed as a percentage: (word count / total words) × 100. Knowing which words appear most helps you balance content for SEO and avoid overusing the same term (keyword stuffing). This tool tokenizes your text into words, counts each one, and shows frequency and density. You can optionally exclude common stopwords and very short words to focus on meaningful terms.

How to use

  1. Paste your text into the box.
  2. Optionally check Exclude stopwords and/or Ignore words 1–2 characters.
  3. Click Analyze. The table shows each word, its count, and density (%). Words are sorted by count (most frequent first).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is keyword density?
Keyword density is how often a word (or phrase) appears in your text, usually as a percentage of total words. Very high density can look like keyword stuffing to search engines; too low may mean the topic is under-represented.
Should I exclude stopwords?
Stopwords (the, a, is, etc.) are very common and often dilute the view. Excluding them lets you focus on meaningful words. For strict SEO checks, some people include everything.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. Your text never leaves your device.
