Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enter a fraction?
Use the form numerator/denominator, e.g. 3/4 for three quarters. Mixed numbers like 1 1/2 can be entered as 3/2 or 1.5.
Is my data sent to a server?

Why does decimal to fraction show an approximation?
Some decimals have no exact finite fraction (e.g. pi). The tool finds a simple fraction that is close to the decimal you entered.
